C2 Restaurant at the InterContinental Suites Hotel Cleveland Introduces New Herb & Vegetable Patio Garden

Come visit C2 Restaurant at the InterContinental Suites Hotel Cleveland and check out the new herb and vegetable garden on the patio!  

The idea for the garden comes from the hotel’s Chef and Gardener, Omar Jones.  Omar’s experience gardening with his Grandmother has had a profound impact on the wellness concept at the Suite Hotel.  As Omar explains it, “Gardening has always been an important part of my life.  My Grandmother put me to work in her garden when I was a kid, and I had a garden at home long before I became a Chef.  At C2, we are committed to wellness and sustainability, and what better way to forward that mission than by growing some of our own ingredients and providing the freshest food to our guests.”

The garden features assorted herbs to include basil, thyme, sage, lemon thyme, rosemary, chives, mint, with bell peppers, chili peppers, and tomatoes.  In addition to incorporating the freshly grown food into C2′s regular dishes, Omar will be running daily Herb Garden Specials using specific items harvested from the garden.

InterContinental Suites Hotel Cleveland is the region’s only “wellness focused” all-suite hotel promoting wellness and good health, conveniently located right on the Cleveland Clinic campus.

    Good questions. Prior to the renovation and opening of C2 Restaurant, the previous restaurant in the InterContinental Suites Cleveland was called “Citrus”. When thinking of a possible name for the new restaurant we discuss that this was really the re-invention of Citrus and someone shouted out C2. We took the name C2 and given the international nature of many of our guests we coined the phrase “Cultural Cuisine” basing the theme and menu on foods from the Mediterranean region.
